The English Faculty recently organised a series of exciting incursions, bringing literature and poetry to life. Year 12s explored Oedipus the King with guest speaker Jason Jewell, deepening their understanding of this timeless tragedy. Year 7s were inspired by spoken-word poet Joel McKerrow, who led a creative writing session for the whole year level with a select group joining a workshop on self-expression through poetry. Year 9s honed their analytical skills by examining McKerrow’s poem The Lost Things, exploring its themes and literary techniques.
These sessions encouraged students to think critically, embrace creativity and deepen their appreciation for literature. A big thank you to our guest speakers and the English Faculty for these inspiring experiences!
