To commemorate International Women's Day (IWD), our students have been generating conversation during Wellness session, recognising and celebrating women and girls who are championing the advancement of transformative technology and digital education.
In conjunction with the 2023 IWD theme, DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality, we invited Siena alumna, Liz Bevan (Class of 1986) to speak to our students on how we can address the ongoing biases, stereotypes and lack of representation in the technology sector, as well as how women's ongoing participation in technology has resulted in more creative solutions and greater potential for innovations.
Liz currently holds the position of Vice President, Enterprise & Global Technology at BHP. Liz is a commercially focused senior IT manager with extensive experience with world class companies in various industries including financial services, utilities, telco and mining. Her experience and specialisation includes IT management, product and IT strategy development and execution and risk management. She has a successful track record of driving strategy, vision and cultural change to improve operating results.
Ending on a high note, staff and students enjoyed a Lunchtime Soirée consisting of a beautiful selection of live vocal and instrumental performances.
